Golden Soul
Some nights make the story clear. This year it was Olivia Dean.
By the end of the BRIT Awards in Manchester, her name kept coming up. Artist of the Year. Album of the Year. Song of the Year. A sweep that felt less explosive than inevitable. See Article Here.
Her music has an old school soul warmth to it. Even when the production is modern, it moves slow and easy. This one felt worth a glass.
Golden Soul
Caribbean rum – sugarcane infused and coconut oil fat washed, giving the base a soft sugarcane warmth and rounded texture
Yuzu jasmine cordial – bright citrus leading the drink with a gentle floral lift
Fresh lime – keeps the structure lifted and precise
Saline – sharpens the finish
Shaken cold and served in a thin coupe, finished with a shard of sugarcane and a small sprig of baby’s breath. The first sip opens bright with yuzu. Jasmine softens the middle before the rum returns at the finish with a gentle sugarcane warmth.
Light, citrus forward with a quiet celebratory lift.
Some voices belong on vinyl.
