When designing a menu, I focus on how guests interact with it rather than simply how it looks. The layout, organization and use of visuals all play a role in helping guests navigate the offerings and make decisions with confidence.
This menu was developed for a busy restaurant environment where guests were often choosing from a large number of unfamiliar dishes. Photography was incorporated throughout the menu to make dishes easier to identify and create a more approachable ordering experience.
The sketches and planning work below reflect the thinking behind the layout, organization and visual direction, all with the goal of creating a menu that was easier to navigate during service.

Menu Planning & Visual Development
The menu was organized to help guests move through the offerings with more ease. Photography provided a visual reference for dishes that may have been unfamiliar, helping guests make decisions with greater confidence. The planning focused on how the menu would function during service as much as how it would appear on the page.
